The sustainable SportsField
With the “Sustainable Sports Field,” we are creating a unique space on campus where students can experience physical activity, community, nature, and sustainability in a hands-on way. On a portion of the university sports complex (Nachtigallenweg 86), we’re developing a garden area with individual plots that students can use to grow their own vegetables, herbs, or flowers—all in line with the principles of “self-sufficiency, environmental awareness, and community.”
The project is accompanied by workshops on topics such as healthy eating (cooking classes), ergonomic gardening, outdoor exercise, garden planning, and sustainable consumption. Together with an interdisciplinary team, we’re combining physical activity with health education and environmental responsibility—right in the middle of the university sports complex!
